Fairfax Online Information e-news service

Welcome to your independent online news source for Fairfax County land-use information. Since1988 -- before you had ever heard of the Internet -- Development News Service was using online BBS technology to bring civic activists and small business the tools to track land-use changes and policy actions by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (and some other municipal panels whose actions are a virtual secret).

Fairfax Online Information is available for $225 per year, providing e-mailed advance news of Board agendas and research services that bring the "Board Package" to the hands of the average citizen. In addition, special newsletter coverage of Comprehensive Plan filings continues to put the small investor or civic association P&Z rep a step ahead of the Weekly Agenda and formal government notification procedures.

It's all there without us... You don't really need our service. Just spend an afternoon in line waiting to see the incremental filings in an open plan review year, or just go and get those dumb stares in your regional library Information Desk when you ask to see the backup for Action Item A-2 on next Monday's agenda. Just remember to keep track of when the Board meetings are. And just try to get ZED to e-mail you the staff recommendations on a hot zoning case.

Or let us do your scut work. Get on a level playing field with the big law firms who have a legion of aides and researchers courting the staff. We're there for the little guy, dedicated only to openness in government.
